PHL Embassy in México Celebrates the Legacy of Outstanding Women with Disabilities
Photo Exhibit of the Four Filipino Women with Disabilities.
05 April 2018 MEXICO – The Philippine Embassy in México observed the 14th Women with Disabilities Day on the theme #Progress to Success: Babaeng Maykapansanan sa Pagbabago, Manguna at Manindigan ka” by conducting a photo exhibit and a video showing of the lives and achievements of Filipino women with disabilities at the chancery lobby.
Among the women who were featured in the said exhibit and video showing are Ana Kristina Arce, a deaf student who studied Bachelor in Applied Deaf Studies, concentrating on Multimedia Arts, and graduated magna cum laude, at De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde; Fatima Soriano, a blind at birth, a recording artist and composer of religious songs, a national radio show host and a motivational speaker; Jessica Cox, the world's first licensed armless pilot, as well as the first armless black-belter in the American Taekwondo Association; and Roselle Ambubuyog, a woman who was born blind yet who graduated valedictorian and summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree major in mathematics.
