PH Trade Undersecretary Addresses Swiss Business Community in Zúrich

06 April 2018 ZURICH – Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Undersecretary Ceferino Rodolfo discussed the positive developments in the Philippine economy, the advantages of doing business in the Philippines, and the opportunities in the Philippine market during a business forum at the Credit Suisse Forum St. Peter in Zurich, Switzerland on March 28.
Bureau of Investment (BOI) Executive Director Ms. Carmen Dichiosa joined the Undersecretary in briefing the participants.
The said forum was jointly organized by the Swiss-Asian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SACC), the Philippine Trade and Investment Center (PTIC)-Geneva, and the Philippine Embassy in Berne, Switzerland.
Undersecretary Rodolfo also called on the business community to take advantage of the opportunity that the recently ratified Free Trade Agreement between the Philippines and EFTA countries offers.
Minister and Consul General Maria Theresa S.M. Lazaro, Chargė d’Affaires, a.i. of the Philippine Embassy, also noted the positive developments in the Philippine economy, including the robust growth forecast for 2018 and 2019. She expressed hope that the Swiss business community will seize the available opportunities and invest in the country.
Officials of Testech Group and Ivoclar Vivadent, Inc., two companies with presence in the Philippines, shared their experiences in doing business in the country and underscored the attributes of the country’s labor force as the primary reason for their presence and expansion in the Philippines. END
