Philippine Baro’t Saya Featured in Myanmar Fashion Show

06 April 2018 YANGON – Madame Elsa A. Kapunan, spouse of Philippine Ambassador to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Eduardo E. Kapunan, Jr., participated in the International Cultural and Charity Group (ICCG) Charity Gala Dinner and Fashion Show, Fashion from Around the World at the Lotte Hotel in Yangon on March 31.

The ICCG members composed of Ambassadors’ spouses from different Diplomatic Missions enthralled the audience by modeling their respective national dresses. Madame Kapunan donned a baro’t saya designed by Patis Tesoro and a modern Myanmar longgyi creation of Myanmar fashion designer Alai Lu Mjaun.

ICCG is a non-profit organization composed of more than sixty distinguished ladies from both local and international communities in Myanmar with the primary aim of promoting cultural exchange while raising funds for charitable initiatives in education, health and hygiene. The beneficiary of the “Fashion from Around the World” event is the Yangon Education Centre for the Blind, a charity-funded school for blind girls located in Mindhama Road, Insein Township. END
