Austrian Integration and Education Council Honors Filipino Nurses for 40 Years of Service
Mag. Jürgen Czernohorszky, Councilor for Integration and Education, delivers his speech honoring the Filipino nurses for their long years of service
06 April 2018 VIENNA — Filipino nurses who served in Austria for four decades were honored by the Austrian Integration and Education Council at the Vienna Rathaus (town hall) on April 03.
Councilor Jürgen Czernohorszky noted the numerous changes Austria has experienced in the span of 40 years and highlighted that despite these changes, the dedication of Filipino nurses in serving Austrian society has remained constant. He mentioned that better working regulations and conditions are currently in place for these health and medical professionals.
Philippine Ambassador to Austria Maria Cleofe R. Natividad proudly supported the nurses during the recognition ceremony.
Ambassador Natividad reiterated the Filipino nurse’s professionalism and dedication to the job, and how Austria would benefit well to hire more of them. Additionally, she informed the Councilor that her advocacy in her previous posting in Berlin, which bore fruition, included a tripartite agreement, “The Triple Win,” among the Philippine and Geman governments and the German hospitals on the hiring of Filipino nurses directly.
Councilor Czernohorszky was receptive to the Ambassador’s advocacy and looks forward to more Filipino nurses being employed in Austria. END
