PHL Consul General in Dubai Briefs Bohol Representative Arturo Yap on Investment Opportunities for OFWs

06 April 2018 DUBAI — Philippine Consul General in Dubai Paul Raymund Cortes and Agriculture Attaché Gil Herico met with Bohol Representative Arturo Yap during his short 12-hour transit in Dubai en route to Manila on April 05.
Representative Yap is the Chair of the House Committee on Economic Affairs. He is also a member of the committees on agriculture and fisheries resources, tourism, technical and higher education, and overseas workers affairs.
During the brief meeting, Consul General Cortes discussed a range of issues with Representative Yap such as agricultural investments of overseas Filipinos, Islamic financing in the United Arab Emiras (U.A.E) and prospects for the Philippines, tourism opportunities in the Middle East, Halal cuisine, education in Philippine Schools overseas, the Philippine participation in Dubai Expo 2020, and possible investments for Philippine educational institutions in Dubai.
Congressman Yap noted that these opportunities have potential as far as engaging Overseas Filipinos relative to our economic and socio-cultural developments are concerned. END
