DFA Undersecretary for Strategic Communications Ernesto Abella Urges Dubai and Northern Emirates FilCom to be Partners in Nation Building

06 April 2018 DUBAI – Undersecretary for Strategic Communications Ernesto C. Abella met with around 25 Filipino Community leaders in Dubai and the Northern Emirates and conducted a dialogue on diaspora engagement for nation-building on April 02.

The leaders of the Filipino Community who attended the event represented various fields such as education, business, professional organizations, and socio-civic groups.

The forum tackled measures on how the overseas Filipino migrant community and the government can work together for a stronger nation. The group exchanged perspectives on what they deem as priorities as far as development is concerned and what avenues or strategies to take to achieve these.

Consul General Paul Raymund Cortes expressed appreciation to the Undersecretary for the dialogue, noting that the Consulate General has always taken stakeholder engagement very seriously. He further noted that the Consulate General and the Community have collaborated more closely in various endeavors over the past years. END
