09 December 2013 - The “Getting-to-Know-You” (GTKY) Philippines of the International Women’s Club of Thailand (IWC) was held on November 21 to promote greater understanding of the Philippines.  The GTKY was hosted by Ms. Gloria Simister who decorated her residence with a Philippine fiesta motif and served delicious Filipino food and delicacies. The gathering was attended by IWC members and its founders most of whom dressed in Philippine costumes for the occasion.

Embassy officials headed by Philippine Ambassador to Thailand Jocelyn Batoon Garcia, attended the meeting upon the invitation of Ms. Ramiah Nena A. Thamavithya, Filipina President of IWC. 

Ambassador Batoon-Garcia gave a brief talk about the Philippine fiesta and festivals, from its origin to the current day celebrations and invited the members of the IWC to visit the Philippines with their families and friends.   Also in attendance were Consul General Edgar B. Badajos, Third Secretary Jay Francis G. Alcantara and Cultural Officer Sylvia M. Reyes. END
