PH Team Triumphs vs Jordan in Asian Football Confederation Women’s Asian Cup Opening Match

16 April 2018 AMMAN – The Malditas, the Philippine Women’s National Football Team beat host-nation team Jordan in the opening match of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Women’s Asian Cup on 07 April with a score of 2-1.

The Philippine Embassy in Amman, Jordan and the members of the Filipino community in Jordan supported the match and celebrated with the Malditas is the team’s biggest win to date.  

The group stage of the tournament runs until 12 April before entering the knockout stage on 16 April. Under group A, the Philippine team is competing against Jordan, China, and Thailand. The top two teams of the group will qualify for the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup in France.

The Malditas are slated for a kick-off against China and Thailand on April 09 and 12. END
