PH Embassy in Bahrain Observes Autism Awareness Month

MANAMA AUTISM 1

17 April 2018 MANAMA – The Philippine Embassy in Manama, Bahrain, in cooperation with some members of the Filipino community and the management of the Lost Paradise of Dilmun Theme Park (LPOD), organized an event in observance of Autism Awareness Month at the sprawling LPOD waterpark and resort. The interactive activities for the special children in Bahrain were facilitated by Mr. Dante Gamboa, a teacher at the Philippine School in Bahrain and some of his students in connection with their Geography class.

The children also participated in songs, dances and games and were given free pass for the day to the Lost Paradise of Dilmun waterpark together with their parents and family members.

According to Philippine Ambassador to Bahrain Alfonso Ver, the event was a meaningful way to observe Autism Awareness Month and for the Filipino community to ‘give back’ to Bahrain.

“Seeing the videos and photos made me so emotional. Such a wonderful group of people who thought of our special children for such a great fun filled day. I truly appreciate the efforts everyone put into this and “special thanks to the honourable ambassador and his wife,” said Ms. Fadia Haroon, Administrator of the Bahrain Special Families Support Group.
