PH Consulate, POLO-OWWA in Jeddah Repatriate 32 OFWs

JEDDAH 20 April 2018 — The Philippine Consulate General and POLO-OWWA in Jeddah repatriated 32 female OFWs on 12 April.
The OFWs allegedly suffered at the hands of their employers. They were temporarily admitted at the Bahay Kalinga of the Consulate General while the Assistance-to-Nationals Section and POLO/OWWA negotiated their exit visas with their employers, recruitment agencies, and concerned Saudi authorities.
Eleven (11) of the female OFWs left Jeddah on 16 April 2018 via Philippine Airlines. POLO/OWWA, through Welfare Officer Yolanda Peñaranda, provided airport assistance to the workers during their repatriation. END
