PH Consulate General to Work with Illinois Attorney General’s Office on Programs for FilCom

CHICAGO 23 April 2018 – The Philippine Consulate General in Chicago looks to increase the level of its engagement with the State of Illinois by collaborating with the Attorney General’s Office. Philippine Consul General Gina A. Jamoralin receives Ms. Nettie Leon Lasko, Senior Government and Community Relations Officer of the Office of the Attorney General, and discussed the various programs their office conducts for various communities in Illinois where the Consulate General can participate in and promote for the benefit of the Filipino community.

Consul General Jamoralin welcomed the opportunity to work with the Illinois Attorney General (IAG) on issues such as consumer protection, advocacy for women and the elderly, and immigration and legal rights.

The Consul General also hoped that the Consulate’s observance of Labor Rights Week in September will be enhanced by partnering with the IAG. She further expressed interest in possibly extending the IAG’s Health Care Week program to the Filipino community sometime in October.

She invited Ms. Lasko and other resource persons from IAG to also make a presentation in one of the Consulate General’s “Talakayan Series”. END
