PH Embassy in The Hague Offers Legal Clinic for OFWs
THE HAGUE 23 April 2018 – The Philippine Embassy in The Hague conducted a Legal Clinic and Consultation on Philippine Family Law for the Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in The Netherlands at the Conference Room of the Embassy on 17 April.
Prof. Elizabeth A. Pangalangan conducted a lecture on Philippine Family Law, which was attended by 40 OFWs. After the lecture, there was a Q & A where participants were allowed to ask questions in an open forum pertaining to marriage, separation, divorce, presumptive death, support, legitimate & illegitimate children, paternity, custody and adoption of children and other family issues.
OFWs recognized Philippine Embassy’s efforts in spearheading a legal clinic, which they believe is an important undertaking which every OFW must attend, in order to provide them with the basic knowledge, guidance and insights on legal concept on Philippine Family Law.
With positive feedback on the just concluded legal clinic, the Philippine Embassy in The Hague realizes the importance of this legal consultation and will continue to hold legal clinics in the Netherlands in its annual program. END
