PH Consul General Discusses Closer Cooperation with L.A. Deputy Mayor

LOS ANGELES 23 April 2018 – Philippine Consul General Adelio Angelito S. Cruz paid a call on Ambassador Nina Hachigian, Deputy Mayor for International Affairs at the Mayor’s Office in L.A. City Hall on 17 April. Consul General Cruz was accompanied by his Deputy, Consul Ambrosio Brian F. Enciso III.
The 30-minute meeting was very warm and productive. Both the Consul General and the Deputy Mayor discussed matters of improving trade with a proposed business delegation from the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) in October 2018 to further explore mutual trade between the Philippines and Los Angeles.
Consul General Cruz also mentioned that the newly formed Filipino-American Chamber Hollywood is working hard to encourage Hollywood movie producers to make Philippines a location for future movie shoots. The Deputy Mayor agreed that the Philippines, with its gorgeous locales has so much to offer the movie industry.
Deputy Mayor Hachigian was the former US ambassador to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) during the Obama administration, and is leading the newly created Mayor’s Office of International Affairs. The office works to broaden the city’s global engagement on matters ranging from trade, investment, culture and tourism to preparations for the 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Games. END
