PH Mission in Jakarta Joins the ASEAN Women’s Circle Food Festival 2018

JAKARTA 23 April 2018 – The Philippine Permanent Mission to ASEAN participated in the annual ASEAN Food Festival organized by the ASEAN Women’s Circle of Jakarta (AWC) at the ASEAN Secretariat in Jakarta on 10 April.

With a theme, “Food Fair 2018: ASEAN and Partners”, the Mission joined more than 20 participants from ASEAN Member States (AMS) and External Partners. Mission’s contribution of tapsilog was a favorite among the 400 guests. Proceeds from the food fair will go to charitable institutions in Indonesia.

The AWC is composed of spouses of diplomats and officials from AMS countries. Its membership is also open to members of the Filipino community.  The AWC’s Chief Patron is Mme. Yasmin Fachir, spouse of the Indonesian Vice Foreign Minister and Advisor is Datin Chan Chin Ming, spouse of ASEAN Secretary-General Dato Lim Jock Hoi.  The AWC aims to promote ASEAN solidarity and friendship through various socio-cultural and related activities, such as fund-raising events like the Food Festival.
