DOT Promotes PH as English Language Destination in Russia Fair

MOSCOW 24 April 2018 – To further promote the Philippines as a destination for English Language Training, the Department of Tourism participated again in this year’s Begin Lingua Fair Russia held at Hotel Angleterre, St. Petersburg and Radisson Slavyanskaya Hotel, Moscow on 14 and 15 April 2018.

Ambassador to the Russian Federation Carlos D. Sorreta personally welcomed and expressed support to the delegation, highlighting the important role they are playing in strengthening people-to-people exchanges between Russia and the Philippines through language training.

Begin Lingua Fair is a bi-annual international exhibition event in Russia participated in by language schools and universities and other education institutions from around the world to promote language studies abroad from basic to intensive levels.

During their Moscow event, the DOT was with QQ English represented by Ms. Alexandra Bahadori, Russian Manager. 

QQ English is an ESL School based in Cebu City that offers “one-on-one” lessons with English teachers and preparation for IELTS and TOEIC examinations and business English. Their program also includes excursions to emerge the students with the locals and experience the beauty and sights of the Philippines while learning English.

At the St. Petersburg event on 14 April, the DOT was accompanied by EV Academy, Philinter Education Center, IDEA Academy, 3A Academy and Center for Premier International Language Studies.

The DOT was represented by Ms. Renee Marie N. Reyes, Chief, English as Second Language (ESL), Office of Product and Market Development, Ms. Marissa A. Masangkay, and Mr. BernsPapna. 

The Begin Lingua Fair is organized by Begin Group which conducts education-related events and exhibitions in Russia as well as in India, Vietnam, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Ukraine.  END
