PH Present at the FEI Dressage World Cup Final Paris, A First
Ellesse Tzinberg takes her turn to compete with Triviant at the 2018 FEI Dressage World Cup Finals in Paris, France on 13 April 2018.
PARIS 24 April 2018 — The Philippines was represented for the first time in the FEI Dressage World Cup Finals through the participation of US-based Ellesse Jordan Tzinberg, 26, the daughter of a Filipina mother and American-Australian father.
The FEI, which stands for the International Federation for Equestrian Sports (FEI), held its World Cup finals this year at the Accor Hotels Arena in Paris, France from April 11‑15. Representatives from the Philippine Embassy were there during the competition, to show the country’s support for Ellesse.
Ellesse, born and raised in Malaysia, had studied and obtained a university degree in the US and then started her modeling career there. Eventually, she decided to move to Europe to pursue her true passion, dressage.
Her parents Agnes and Senett, who own and operate a rider’s lodge in Malaysia, confirmed that Ellesse is indeed the first Filipina and the first Southeast Asian ever to have been able to compete in FEI Dressage World Cup Finals. She is also the youngest among all the participants.
In an article published by FEI on 06 April 2018 (https://www.fei.org/stories/ellesse-jordan-tzinberg-dressage), Ellesse was quoted as saying “My target for the World Cup Final is just to enjoy every minute, smile in the majority of my test, show how wonderful my horse is, and represent my country as well as the people who support me and make them proud.”
The winner of the 2018 Dressage World Cup was American rider Laura Graves. It has been said by some that it is only at the FEI World Cup finals where one can see in one place the best and finest riders of the world. END
