Buhay Abroad Features Austria

Ambassador Maria Cleofe R. Natividad welcomes the officers of Buhay Abroad and delivers an inspiring speech on the importance of connectivity.

VIENNA 26 April 2018 – Newly formed Filipino organization, Buhay Abroad, held its induction ceremony at the Philippine Embassy’s multipurpose hall with guests from both the Filipino and Austrian communities. Through its television show, also entitled Buhay Abroad, which will be aired every Sunday morning on PTV4 from 9:30 am to 10:00 am, the organization aims to  highlight the lives and experience of our kababayans abroad. 

Philippine Ambassador and Permanent Representative to Vienna Maria Cleofe R. Natividad welcomed the group and their guests and reiterated the importance of connectivity in relation to Buhay Abroad’s objectives – to help the Filipinos abroad tell their stories, to inspire and motivate those they left behind, and more importantly, to convey the triumph of the human spirit, i.e. despite adversities, tenacity and pure grit always win in the end.

Ms. Diane Querrer, a  Ms. Earth beauty title holder and now anchor for the television channel, has been tasked to host the show. Together with her crew, Ms. Querrer went around Austria to feature the country where majority of Filipinos work in the health care industry, in food and retail sectors, and at the Vienna International Center (VIC) as international civil servants. In her interview, the Ambassador expressed the Filipinos’ relative ease in integrating with the Austrian way of life, the majortiy of which work in the health and services sectors. And that because most are professionals, the Embassy hardly encounters problems involving them. The Embassy also facilitated the interviews with members of the community, and their entry as official guests to the VIC, where the offices of the United Nations and other international organizations are housed. Ambassador Natividad informs Ms. Diane Querrer, PTV4 news anchor and host of the show entitled Buhay Abroad, that the Filipinos in Austria integrate seamlessly to the Austrian way of life.
