PH Ambassador Participates in ANCOP’s Caring for the Poor Seminar

OTTAWA 04 May 2018 — Ambassador Petronila P. Garcia participated in ANCOP’s Caring for the Poor Seminar in Kanata, Ontario on Saturday, 28 April 2018.  ANCOP has been has been helping many financially disadvantaged families in the Philippines by providing them shelter, education, and livelihood, complementing the efforts of the government in alleviating poverty.

Ambassador Garcia addressed the participants of the seminar and briefed them regarding the Philippine government’s poverty alleviation programs. The seminar discussed the various projects of ANCOP in the Philippines and encouraged everyone to share their blessings to the less fortunate. ANCOP Canada has, to date, built more than 2,500 homes, and sent more than 3,000 children to school.

ANCOP or Answering the Cry of the Poor, the outreach arm of Couples for Christ, has approximately more than 10,000 members in Canada, of which about 40% are in Ontario, mostly residing in the Greater Toronto Area.  END
