Filipinos in Cairo Support Miss Eco PH Candidate

CAIRO 04 May 2018 – Members of the Filipino community in Cairo, Egypt came out in full force at the Cairo Opera House on 27 April to watch the Miss Eco International 2018 pageant which saw Filipina Cynthia Thomalla win the crown. Waving small Philippine flags, the Philippine Embassy, led by Ambassador Leslie Baja, and the Filipinos cheered Cynthia in various stages of the competition, making her easily one of the crowd's favorite.

After winning the crown, she posed gamely with the Filipinos who visited her backstage.  She expressed great elation at the strong moral support the Filipino crowd gave her in the competition.  As a gesture of her appreciation, she visited the Philippine Embassy on 29 April and met with more members of the Filipino community.

Cynthia said that truly her Egypt experience will be something she will always remember. END
