PH Art and Dance Troupe participates in Hue Festival in Vietnam

Kaloob performs a traditional dance from the northern part of the Philippines.

HANOI 08 May 2018 — The Kaloob: Philippine Music and Dance Ministry represented Philippines during the 10th Hue Festival at Thua Thien Hue Province on 27 April - 02 May 2018. The group showcased a panorama of music and dance traditions from the timeless indigenous past through the periods and influence of Asian, Malay and Western cultural flavors.

Kaloob was founded in 1994 debuting in the national stage as the official resident dance company of the prestigious yearlong 1998 Philippine Centennial Expo. The group is committed to the research, documentation, preservation and promotion of Philippine traditional music and dances.

Ms. Zara Gonzaga, Cultural officer, attended the event and represented the Philippine Embassy.

Hue festival is one of the most anticipated cultural events in Vietnam and is organized every two years. This year, almost 1,300 local and foreign artists are brought together by the said festival. END
