11 December 2013 - In its press release dated December 09, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation announced the lifting of travel ban for Russian citizens to the Philippines, except to the most devastated areas where the situation still remains difficult.

Last November 13, the Russian Foreign Ministry recommended to Russian travelers to temporarily refrain from visiting the Philippines due to the calamity brought about by super typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) which struck the country on November 08.


The latest announcement says that the situation in the Philippines is gradually returning to normal and advised Russian tourists to remain in the areas of Boracay, Cebu, Palawan and Bohol islands when travelling to the Philippines.

Thousands of Russian tourists travel to the Philippines especially during the winter months. END
