PH Friendship Group Organized

OTTAWA 10 May 2018 – The Canada-Philippines Inter-Parliamentary Group held its General Meeting at Parliament Hill in Ottawa on 08 May 2018. Mr. Kevin Lamoureux, Liberal Member of Parliament (MP) for Winnipeg North, was elected Chair of the Group.

Elected as Vice Chairpersons of the Group to represent the major political parties in Parliament were the following:  MP Michael Levitt (Liberal), MP Alice Wong (Conservative), MP Wayne Stetski (NDP), and Senator Dennis Patterson (Conservative).

The Group is scheduled to visit the Philippines in August in order to strengthen parliamentary relationship with their counterparts from the Philippine Congress. END
