PH Consulate General in Milan Holds Workshop for 116th Labor Day

MILAN 10 May 2018 - The Philippine Consulate General in Milan (Milan PCG) and the Philippine Overseas Labor Office in Milan (POLO Milan) co-organized a workshop “Updates on Italian Immigration and Labor Laws” at the Consulate lobby on Sunday, 29 April in observance of Labor Day. The theme for this year’s Labor Day celebration is “Pagpupugay sa Manggagawang Pilipino: Dangal ng Lahi, kabalikat sa progresibong pagbabago!”
The workshop in Milan, participated by almost a hundred representatives from various Filcom organizations across northern Italy, followed an initial workshop held a week earlier in Turin. Italian Immigration Specialist Avv. Natalia Cicchelli was invited to be the resource speaker for the occasion.
In her opening message, Consul General Irene Susan B. Natividad lauded overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) for their sacrifices and contribution to the Philippine economy. She encouraged them to continue their hard work and help give a good image of the country in Italy.
Avv. Natalia Cichelle explained to participants the Italian labor and immigration laws and took questions from the floor on employees’ rights, benefits and obligations.
