PH Ambassador Makes Farewell to Brunei’s Crown Prince, Officials

Montealegre (left) during his farewell audience with His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, The Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office, at Qashr Al-Meezaan on May 08, 2018. Ambassador Montealegre conveyed his appreciation to the Brunei Government, through the Prime Minister’s Office, for assisting the Embassy during high-level exchanges and visits between the Philippines and Brunei Darussalam, especially during the State Visit of President Duterte to Brunei in October 2016 and the Golden Jubilee Celebration of His Majesty. Ambassador Montealegre conveyed the Philippine Government’s appreciation for Brunei’s role in the Mindanao Peace Process, particularly its participation as a member of the International Monitoring Team (IMT) and the Independent Decommissioning Body (IDB). He also noted the good number of exchanges between the defense establishments of the Philippines and Brunei, including the regular meetings of the Joint Defense Committee, training activities, and the conduct of intelligence conferences, not only between the two countries but also within the context of the ASEAN.

The Minister expressed the MCYS’ readiness in the implementation of the Agreement.

Ambassador Montealegre conveyed to the RBAF Commander the Philippine Government’s sincere appreciation for Brunei’s role in the Mindanao Peace Process, particularly its participation as a member of the International Monitoring Team (IMT) and the Independent Decommissioning Body (IDB). He also thanked the RBAF for regularly inviting students from the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) to attend courses at the RBAF Defence Academy, such as the Command and Staff Course and the Junior Staff Course.
