DUBAI 16 May 2018 – There is an increasing interest in the Philippines from the expat community in Dubai, home to over 200 different nationalities and ethnicities. With some 80% of Dubai’s population being foreign, the travel operators and agencies are encouraged to continue their aggressive push for Philippine destination with its many products and services.
To do this, a Gala Dinner on Philippine Tourism was held at the Westin Hotel in Dubai on 22 April. The Philippine Consulate General in Dubai, AviaReps (DOT’s Tourism Marketing Representative), and the Tourism Promotions Board organized the Gala Dinner attended by some 600 travel agencies, tour operators, bloggers and other social media influences, along with other foreign dignitaries led by Sri Lankan Minister of Tourism Development John Amaratunga and Spanish Tourism Attaché Miguel Nieto.
One highlight of the Gala Dinner was Rene Salud’s Tapestry Fashion Show and musical entertainment provided by Filipino artists. The event was one of the highlights of the Philippine participation in the 2018 Arabian Travel Market.
The Philippines is an excellent diving, health and wellness, nature and eco-tourism, bridal destination.
