PH SME Off to Canada for Business to Business Meet

TORONTO 16 May 2018 – Fourteen (14) SME companies from the Philippines participated in the B2B meetings and networking session at the Ontario Trade and Investment Centre in Toronto on 07 May.

The companies were part of the Philippine Outbound Business Matching Mission (OBMM) to SIAL – Salon Internationale de L;alimentation – Canada. The OBMM delegation travelled to Vancouver, Montreal and Toronto from 26 April to 10 May to expand business and trade relations between the Philippines and Canada.

The growing Filipino diaspora in Canada, coupled with the increasing interest in Filipino cuisine by Canadians, appear to indicate that there is great potential for the Filipino food market to grow in Canada.  She added that Ontario is also home to various SMEs and large companies that Filipino firms may seek out to establish profitable business partnerships.

During the event, the SMEs also exhibited samples of a wide variety of processed food products from organic coconut products, mango flour, gourmet tropical fruit jams, to snack foods from all over the Philippines including Cebu, Davao and Manila. END
