Virlanie Voices Showcases Filipino Choral Artistry in Germany
BERLIN 16 MAY 2018 — Virlanie Voices, led by its Musical Director Ma. Lourdes Hermo, presented two benefit concerts in Spellen, Germany on 04 and 05 May. Clad in their traditional Philippine attire, the group performed folk songs which included Waray-Waray, Ili-ili tulog anay, Rosa Pandan, Tilibum and Ollonno. The choir also regaled their audiences with popular tunes like Somewhere over the Rainbow and Tagumpay Nating Lahat. Virlanie Voices is the official choir of the Virlanie Foundation, a non-government organization that engages in the welfare of street children. The 28-member children´s choir is currently on its 4th European Concert Tour covering Switzerland, France, Belgium and Germany.
