Philippines Participates in 15th ASEAN-Russia Senior Officials’ Meeting in Moscow

MOSCOW 23 May 2018 – Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Enrique Manalo led the Philippine delegation to the 15th ASEAN-Russia Senior Officials’ Meeting (ARSOM) on 18 May 2018. The meeting was a follow-through to the 14th ASEAN-Russia SOM in Vientiane in March 2017 and the ASEAN-Russia Post Ministerial Conference (PMC)+1 Session in Manila in August 2017. The meetings were all conducted to build on the results of the Commemorative Summit marking the 20th Anniversary of the ASEAN-Russian Federation Dialogue Partnership held in Sochi in 2016.
Undersecretary Manalo joined Senior government officials from all ASEAN Member States in meetings with their Russian counterparts, led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Igor V. Morgulov to exchange views on regional and international issues and cooperation in various areas such as: in security, counterterrorism, transnational crime, economics, science and technology, education, transport connectivity, energy, agricultural cooperation, disaster management and emergency response, cultural cooperation, and people-to-people exchanges.
