PH Envoy to Brunei Makes Farewell Audience with HRH Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, Calls on Second Minister of Finance

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN 21 2018 – Philippine Ambassador Meynardo LB. Montealegre (left) during his farewell audience with His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah at the Balai Penghadapan, Bukit Kayangan on 10 May. Ambassador Montealegre conveyed his sincere appreciation to His Royal Highness for receiving him in audience, and for the support and warm hospitality accorded to him by the Government and people of Brunei Darussalam since his arrival in the country in April 2015. His Royal Highness likewise expressed his appreciation to the Ambassador for the latter’s contribution in fostering the warm and excellent ties between the Philippines and Brunei.

Ambassador Montealegre provided the Minister with updates on the proposed Agreement on the Avoidance of Double Taxation between the Philippines and Brunei Darussalam. The Minister welcomed the updates from the Ambassador and conveyed that the main thrusts for Brunei’s government spending this year include employment generation and human capacity development, while practicing cost-efficient spending and employing innovative solutions.
