NEW YORK 25 May 2018 – The Department of Foreign Affairs, through the Philippine Consulate General in New York, has extended financial help to the family of the late Primo Ramos.
Philippine sports fans of the 80’s may remember the late Ramos, a former Philippine Navy enlisted athlete and a Sea Games veteran, who represented the country in various marathons and distance running events together with 1992 Olympian Herman Suizo. He had been in and out of hospitals in Jersey City in the past five years due to chronic diabetes and finally passed away on 10 February 2018.
Mrs. Evangeline expressed her heartfelt thanks to President Rodrigo R. Duterte and Secretary of Foreign Affairs Allan Peter Cayetano for the financial assistance. She said that it was Primo’s final wish for his remains to be brought to Bauang, La Union. END
