June 12 Proclaimed as Filipino-American Friendship and Heritage Day in San Francisco
SAN FRANCISCO 07 June 2018 – The City and County of San Francisco has proclaimed June 12 as “Filipino-American Friendship and Heritage Day in San Francisco.”
In signing the proclamation, Mayor Mark E. Farell congratulated the Philippines on the 120th anniversary of the Philippine Declaration of Independence stating that the occasion “gives us the opportunity to extend sincere thanks to the Consulate General of the Philippines in San Francisco for the essential services, programs and resources it provides to our community.”
Noting the “important contributions” of Filipino and Filipino Americans to San Francisco city, the Mayor expressed that the city looks forward to “continued friendship and partnership with the Philippines…to promote peace and mutual understanding through meaningful people-to-people activities…” END
