06 June 2018 – Filipino Chef Reynorr Samson showcased the unique flavors of Philippine cuisine during his participation in the 60th TongTong Festival, the biggest Eurasian food festival in The Hague on 01 June.

Chef Reynorr whipped up what he called the “atchara sandwich” during a cooking demonstration at the said event.  Atchara sandwich is a Filipino-style sandwich made of fried beef tapa, mushrooms, pickled papaya (atchara), banana catsup, and fried egg.  The atchara sandwich placed 4th during the Lekkerste Broodje (Tastiest Sandwich) in Horecaya, Amsterdam last January.

The Philippine Embassy in The Hague supported the event as part of its celebration of Philippine National Heritage Month in May and in the lead up to the month-long celebration of the 120th anniversary of the Proclamation of Philippine Independence in June.  END
