Myanmar Experiences Adobo, Sinigang and Other Dishes at PH Food Festival

YANGON 22 June 2018 – The Philippine Embassy in Yangon gave Myanmar a taste of the Philippines through mouthwatering authentic Filipino dishes, at the First Philippine Food Festival in Meliã Hotel Yangon from 04 to 10 June 2018.
With the theme “Experience the Philippines Through Food,” residents of Yangon got to try Lechon de Leche, Adobo, Crispy Pata, Kare-Kare, Sinigang, Tinola and other sumptuous traditional Philippine dishes. Filipino desserts such as Leche Flan, Palitaw and Buko Pandan were also served.
“The Philippines is known not only for its beautiful islands and hospitable people but also for its delicious food; and that he hopes that through the Food Festival, the people in Myanmar, foreigners and locals alike, will be able to experience the Philippines,” said Ambassador to Myanmar Eduardo E. Kapunan Jr.
The Ambassador officially opened the Food Festival with Melia Hotel General Manager Céline Guyomarc’h and Culinary Director Paul Wieser.
The Philippine Food Festival is part of the Embassy’s cultural diplomacy activities, to promote awareness of the Philippines among the people of Myanmar Citizens and other expatriate communities in Yangon. END
