13 December 2013 -  Philippine Ambassador to Israel Generoso D.G. Calonge, along with Second Secretary and Consul Lorenzo Rhys G. Jungco IV, visited Rex Niño L. Recto and Yanny S. Millor who underwent a successful operation on December 03 at the Schneider Children’s Medical Center of Israel due to their harelip condition.

Eleven-year-old Yanny and nine year old Rex were brought to Israel last November 27 by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) rescue and medical team after completing its humanitarian mission in the Philippines.  The two children were initially admitted to the IDF Field Hospital in Bogo, Cebu for medical assistance after typhoon Yolanda.  After being diagnosed with harelip condition (stage 3), the children, along with their guardian, were brought by the IDF contingent to the country for treatment under the full sponsorship of the Israeli Government.
