PH Government Gives Financial Assistance to Filipino Stabbing Victim in Saudi Arabia

JEDDAH 13 June 2018 – In line with President Rodrigo Duterte’s directive to the Department of Foreign Affairs to fight for Filipino around the world, the Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah gave Overseas Filipino Worker Rolando P. Mina, a stabbing victim in Madinah, Saudi Arabia, financial assistance for his medical and personal expenses while he is recuperating from his wounds.
Mina, a nurse working at the Al-Mouwasat Hospital, was stabbed by a Saudi national while he was on duty at the hospital emergency room on 17 May 2018.
The Consulate has retained the services of a Saudi law firm, which was taken from the DFA’s Legal Assistance Fund for 2018 to represent OFW Mina in the ongoing investigation of the stabbing incident. END
