Iconic Filipino Dishes and Mangoes Featured in PH Food Festival in Xiamen

XIAMEN 25 June 2018 — The Philippine Consulate General in Xiamen successfully launched the 2018 Philippine Food Festival at C&D Hotel in Xiamen City, China.
The formal opening was held at the Hotel’s Green Yard Restaurant on 10 June 2018, which was graced by Xiamen City Government officials led by Xiamen Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office (FOCAO) Deputy Director General Yao Jianhong, members of the consular corps, and the Consulate General’s official contacts.
In his remarks during the opening ceremony, Consul General Julius Caesar A. Flores expressed his appreciation to C&D Hotel Xiamen and Century Park Hotel Manila for their valuable support in staging the culinary event. He highlighted that Philippine cuisine has been given global recognition and popularity because of its mixture of eastern and western cultures, including Fookien cuisine.
He invited the dining public to savor the best of Filipino cuisine during the Festival.
Filipino chefs from Century Parok Hotel Manila Reynaldo Mariñas Panganiban, Ernesto Eboña Cabanela, Rich-Jo Pajo Lagapa, and ex-chef Raymond Gabriel San Miguel Chua were flown in from the Philippines. Philippine mangoes are given a strong highlight in the dishes and desserts during the festival. END
