PH Consulate Attends Graduation of HK Correctional Officers

HONG KONG 27 June 2018 – The Philippine Consulate General in Hong Kong witnessed the passing-out parade of the Correctional Services Department (CSD), at the Staff Training Institute in Stanley in Hong Kong’s Southern District on 08 June 2018.
Deputy Consul General Roderico C. Atienza, accompanied by Consul Paulo V. Saret and Attaché Hermogenes G. Cayabyab Jr., attended the parade of graduating 38 Officers and 59 Assistant Officers II, which was reviewed by Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor. There are nine Filipino inmates in maximum security Stanley Prison.
The newly recruited Officers and Assistant Officers II, who underwent 26 and 23 weeks' of training respectively, marched past the reviewing officer and Mr Lam Kwok-leung, Commissioner of Correctional Services, to demonstrate their esprit de corps, coordination, discipline and high morale as correctional officers.
Chief Executive Lam awarded the Principal's Shield to two Officers, and the Golden Whistle to two Assistant Officers II for outstanding performance. END
