16 December 2013 – New officers from two Filipino organizations in Russia, the Filipino Association in Russia (FAR) and the Bayanihan ng Bayan ni Juan, took their oath on December 01, with Third Secretary and Vice Consul Jeffrey Angelo Valdez officiating the event.

During the oath-taking ceremony, Vice Consul Valdez commended the leaders for their active participation and continued support of Embassy-initiated activities.  He also thanked the Filipino organizations for the assistance and efforts they extended to the victims of Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) in the Philippines.

FAR is headed by its president, Dr. Cesar Dalida, while Bayanihan is headed by Ms. Cecilia De Lara. END
