The HAGUE 02 July 2018 — The Philippine Embassy in The Hague, in collaboration with the Philippine Department of Tourism Office in Frankfurt, Germany and Turkish Airlines, spearheaded a Philippine travel and tourism workshop at the Salon van Brienen of Hotel Des Indes on 19 June 2018, which preceded the diplomatic reception hosted by the Embassy on the occasion of the 120th anniversary of Philippine independence.

The workshop was led by Dutch travel blogger, Elke Salvedra of  Wander-Lust (@wanderlust.nl, www.wander-lust.nl), who presented her first-hand encounters and experiences during  her trip to the Philippines in 2015.

Philippine Ambassador to the Netherlands Jaime Victor B. Ledda welcomed the 45 travel agents and tour operators to the workshop, emphasizing the all-natural beauty and scenic touristic spots that the Philippines offer to Dutch travelers, including the ease of travel without a visa required for 30 days, and the valuable partnership with airline companies such as Turkish Airlines that offer convenient flight routes to Manila.

Anabelle Gaye Apostol of the DOT Office in Frankfurt gave the participants general information about the Philippines, and offered practical tips on the “must-see” sights that are now being promoted by the Department in the region.

Turkish Airlines officials led by General Manager Cengiz Inceosam discussed the growth of Turkey’s national airlines, and its expansion to various parts of the Asian region.
