VIENNA 03 July 2018 — The Vienna International Center (VIC) Club Filipino, in cooperation with the VIC Art Club, held an exhibition for three Filipino artists, in line with the commemoration of the 120th anniversary of the proclamation of Philippine independence on 04 June 2018.
Two of the artists work at the organizations housed under the VIC: Dr. Carmela Centeno, from the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO); Mr. Vivencio Juliales Jr. from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA); and eight-year-old Alyssa Abrielle Bollozos-Semaña from the VIC Art Club.
Their media and theme differ from one another, but the goal of self-realization and of sharing their talents to friends echoes true among these artists.
Philippine Ambassador to Austria Maria Cleofe R. Natividad underscored the value of art as a potent means of bridging cultures, and an effective way of communicating without words. It transcends limits of thoughts and is bounderless. But above all else, it is the triumph of spirit put onto canvass.
The Ambassador also pointed out it is only fit that the exhibit be held at the Vienna International Center, where color, creed, and race are non-existent issues.
The VIC Club Filipino and VIC Art Club promised to continue supporting Filipino talents by providing them with a venue to showcase their works. END
