THE HAGUE 04 July 2018  ̶ The Philippine Embassy in The Hague conducted its biggest consular outreach in the Dutch Caribbean, when it delivered passport and other consular services to Filipinos in Aruba on 8-11 June 2018.

A total of 560 Filipinos renewed their passports, while 478 have registered for overseas voting. Other consular services such as civil registration, notarial and authentication, among others, were also availed of.

Aruba is home to around 5,000 Filipinos, who are employed in hotels, restaurants, hospitals, house care, and construction. Filipino Catholic priests are also on the island for missionary work.

In April last year, the consular jurisdiction over the Dutch Caribbean territories of Aruba, Sint Maarten, Curaçao, Saba, Sint Eustatius, and Bonaire was transferred to the Philippine Embassy in The Hague from the Embassy in Mexico. END
