PH Consul General Hosts Luncheon Chicago’s Filipino Food Wonderland

CHICAGO 04 July 2018 — Consul General Gina A. Jamoralin invited the members of the Chicago Consular Corps Ladies Club (CCCLC) to a luncheon held at Seafood City Supermarket in Chicago, Illinois on 28 June 2018.
The Consuls General of Croatia, Indonesia, and Dominican Republic, as well as spouses of Consuls General of Nepal, Italy, Macedonia, Finland, Barbados and Mexico attended the luncheon.
The Philippine Consulate General and Seafood City co-hosted the event to showcase Filipino cuisine and products. Members of the CCCLC gained valuable insights about Filipino products and delicacies during the market tour by Mr. Jessie Maglangit, Store Manager at Seafood City.
The luncheon menu takes on a repertoire of famous Filipino food such as inihaw na talong, sinigang na tiyan ng bangus, lumpiang sariwa, chicken or pork adobo, and halo-halo, among others.
Also known as Chicago’s Filipino Food Wonderland, Seafood City Supermarket is the largest Asian grocery store chain catering to Filipino Americans since 1989. Today, it has stores in California, Nevada, Washington, and Hawaii, as well as in Toronto, Canada. END
