XIAMEN 09 July 2018 — Consul General Julius Caesar A. Flores served as guest of honor and keynote speaker the 25th Commencement Exercises and Upper School Recognition Ceremony of the Manila Xiamen International School (MXIS) at Shangri-la Hotel Xiamen on 08 June 2018.

In his remarks, Consul General Flores expressed warm felicitations to the 29 graduates in recognition of their hard work, perseverance, and dedication to learning. Among the 29 graduates from different countries and nationalities, three were Filipinos.

Since learning does not end with graduation, the Consul General urged the graduates to treat life as a continuing learning process, and take on bigger challenges. He also encouraged the graduates to become more productive and responsible members of the community.

Consul General Flores also lauded Engineer Roman and Mildred Go, Chairman and School Headmaster, respectively, as well as the officials and students of MXIS for their commitment to excellence, and in recognition of its accomplishments as a highly regarded institution for the international community in Xiamen.

Consul General Flores expressed appreciation to MXIS for its valuable partnership with the Consulate General’s cultural and economic diplomacy programs.

The event was attended by more than 200 guests, which included MXIS officials, faculty, students, and parents, as well as members of the Filipino Community in Xiamen.

MXIS was established 25 years ago as Fujian province’s first international school, which now has grown to become an embodiment of success in education from the Asia-Pacific region and beyond. END
