Ateneo, La Salle Debaters Take Part in Macau “Tournament of Champions”

MACAU 11 July 2018 – Students from Ateneo de Manila University and De La Salle University competed in “Tournament of Champions 2018,” an invitational debate tournament organized by the University of Macau.

The first-ever tournament was held on 05-09 July 2018, participated by 88 top debaters from prestigious universities all around the world.

The debaters from the Ateneo de Manila University were Mr. Roi Benedict Lao Lim, finalist of the 2017 United Asian Debating Championship, and Mr. Ignacio Lorenzo Villareal, Ninth Best Speaker at the 2018 United Asian Debating Championship.

The debaters from De La Salle University were Mr. Dan Carlo Ramos Mejes, an Octofinalist in the 2015 United Asian Debating Championship, and Ms. Mikee De Vega, ESL World Champion in the World Universities Debate Championship in 2016.

During their courtesy call at the Philippine Consulate General in Macau SAR, the group expressed their appreciation for the opportunity to engage and meet with the other top debaters around the world, and their hope to participate in future competitions in Macau. END
