MACAU 11 July 2018 – In preparation for the monsoon season, the Philippine Consulate General in Macau SAR held a seminar on 08 July 2018, on the emergency evacuation plan formulated by the Macau Unitary Police Service (SPU) in case of a storm surge in the Special Administrative Region.

The “Storm Surge Evacuation Plan in Low-Lying Areas during Typhoon” was discussed by officials from the SPU, at the Caritas Macau Youth Activity Center on Avenida Ferreira in Macau.

More than 55 attendees from the Filipino Community were given brochures listing emergency contact information, maps of evacuation centers, and other relevant information.

An open forum followed the presentation of the SPU officials, where attendees shared suggestions, tips, and experiences.

The Consulate General encouraged the attendees, majority of whom are Community leaders, to share the knowledge that they have learned with their family and friends, to ensure that a larger number of people are aware of the details of the evacuation plan and emergency information. END
