18 December 2013 - The Asian Consular Group (ACG) of Milan held their yearend dinner meeting on December 05 at the residence of Consul General Lourdes S. Tabamo. The meeting was attended by Consuls General from Australia, Bangladesh, India, Kuwait, Lebanon, Turkey and honorary consuls from Armenia, Indonesia, Jordan, Mongolia and the Consul of Malaysia.

The ACG was established in 2011 as an informal group to promote more interactions among representatives of Asian countries (Consul General, Representative Consul, Honorary Consul General, Honorary Representative Consul) in Milan. The meetings provide an opportunity to meet and network with each other and with local officials, who are invited as Guest/Resource Speakers. It is also an opportunity to promote one’s country through cuisine, decors and furnishings. Filipino menu was served, such as chicken adobo, pancit, beef tapa, suha salad, fresh lumpia and turon and ube cake for dessert. A parol (Philippine lantern), Philippine-made angels, and a belen (nativity scene) were also displayed.

Members of ACG take turns hosting the dinner meeting on a voluntary basis. In 2012, the group had a total of seven meetings while six meetings were held in 2013. END
