PH Officials Visits Dubai Expo 2020 Site

DUBAI 12 July 2018 – Foreign Affairs Assistant Secretary for Middle East and African Affairs, and incoming Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates Hjayceelyn M. Quintana led the Philippine delegation who met with Dubai Expo2020 officials on 01 July 2018, to discuss Philippine participation in the global exposition that is held every five years.
Dr. Tarek Oliveira Shayya, EXPO 2020 Board of Director member and Chief of the Expo2020 International Participants’ Division, briefed the Philippine officials on the progress thus far of Dubai’s preparation for Expo 2020, which will be held from 20 October 2020 to 10 April 2021.
The Expo expects more than 180 countries to participate, and is projected to attract around 25 million visitors coming from different parts of the world.
With the theme “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future,” Expo2020 aims to promote collaborations and partnerships between governments, corporations and civil society in drawing up sustainable solutions to global problems. It will feature three themes—opportunity, mobility, and sustainability—on which the exhibitors will focus on. END
