PH Ambassador Discusses Partnership with Non-Profit Org in Helping Filipinas in Russia

MOSCOW 12 July 2018 – Ambassador to Russia Carlos D. Sorreta visited the offices of “Sisters” Sexual Assault Recovery Center, a Russian non-profit organization dedicated to the support of women victims of violence and abuse, on 03 July 2018.

Ambassador Sorreta undertook this visit to personally meet the organization’s members, headed by Executive Director Nadezhda Zamotaeva, and thank them for the support extended to the Embassy’s Assistance to Nationals section particularly in providing counseling services.

“We are pleased to partner with an organization in Russia that can help us to address the mental and emotional wellbeing of our female nationals who may be victims of abuse,” said Ambassador Sorreta.

Ms. Zamotaeva and the other members of “Sisters” present during the meeting expressed their support to Ambassador Sorreta’s proposal for establishing a formal cooperation. She said that Filipino women in distress may seek help from their organization, and reach out in person, by email or by phone.

“Sisters” is a non-profit organization established in 1994. The organization is composed network of psychologists, legal experts, and other professionals.
