PH-Uganda Relations Reaffirmed, PH Ambassador Presents Credentials

UGANDA 18 July 2018 – Ambassador Extraordinary to Kenya Uriel Norman R. Garibay presented his credentials as non-resident Ambassador to Uganda to President Yoweri Museveni on 04 July 2018 at the State House in Entebbe, Uganda.

President Musevenii said that he hopes that the bond between the Philippines and Uganda will continue and become stronger in the next coming years.

Ambassador Garibay met with other government officials, including State Minister of Foreign Affairs Henry Oryem Okello. State Minister Okello expressed his desire to study the Philippine model in protecting its migrant workers so that Uganda may craft the same for its migrant workers.

Ambassador Garibay likewise met with Philippine Consul ad honorem Captain Abhay Agarwal and the new officers of Filipino Foundation Uganda, Ltd. The Filipino Community leaders informed the Ambassador that it is their thrust to make the Philippines more visible in Uganda through various projects promoting Philippine culture and tourism. END
