Leyte Normal Univ is First PH School to Establish Links with Dubai Universities

DUBAI 18 July 2018 – The Philippine Consulate General in Dubai, United Arab Emirates successfully bridged the Leyte Normal University (LNU) with Skyline University of Sharjah, and Bath Spa University of Ajman and Ras Al Khaimah, after LNU signed Memorandums of Understanding with these two institutions on 05 July 2018 at the Sheik Rashid Auditorium in downtown Dubai.

The MOUs detail the new linkage between LNU and the UAE universities involving possible transnational student exchange, collaboration in research projects, academic exchanges, on-the-job training for students in Information Technology, Hotel and Restaurant Management, and Education, considering the individual strengths of the respective educational institutions.

Consul General in Dubai Paul Raymund P. Cortes initially approached Skyline and Bath Spa on a possible link with LNU and brokered meetings between them, highlighting its importance considering the growing number of overseas Filipino students in Dubai.

This is the first interest from any Philippine university on establishing academic links with universities in Dubai and the Northern Emirates. For its part, LNU envisions more links with universities abroad. END
